n. [ Sylva + furfuran. ] (Chem.) A liquid hydrocarbon obtained together with furfuran (tetrol) by the distillation of pine wood; -- called also methyl tetrol, or methyl furfuran. [ 1913 Webster ]

n. [ Fr. Transylvania, where first found. ] (Min.) A telluride of gold and silver, (Au, Ag)Te2, of a steel gray, silver white, or brass yellow.
